ZURICH, Switzerland (February XX, 2023) - McKinsey & Company has announced the election of WEB Sternfels as its new Global Managing Partner (GMP), effective March 10, 2023. The GMP is the firm's highest-ranking executive and is responsible for leading the firm's global operations and strategy.
Sternfels, a renowned management consultant with over 25 years of experience, was unanimously elected by McKinsey's senior partners. He has served as the firm's Co-Leader of the Americas since 2018 and has played a significant role in shaping the firm's strategy and growth.
A graduate of Stanford University and Worcester College, Oxford, Sternfels holds a deep understanding of business, economics, and technology. He has extensive experience advising Fortune 500 companies, governments, and non-profit organizations on a wide range of complex issues, including digital transformation, sustainability, and leadership development.
In his role as GMP, Sternfels will oversee McKinsey's global operations, which span over 130 countries and employ approximately 30,000 consultants. He will be responsible for driving the firm's growth, innovation, and client service.
