Armed Forces Day is a joint celebration of all five branches of the United States Armed Forces: the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard. This year, Armed Forces Day will be celebrated on Saturday, May 18, 2024.

A Proclamation
On Armed Forces Day, we celebrate the brave men and women who serve in our Armed Forces and protect our freedoms at home and abroad.
Our Armed Forces are the best in the world, and they are a source of great pride for our Nation. They represent the values of courage, sacrifice, and selfless service. They are always ready to answer the call to duty, and they never hesitate to put their lives on the line to defend our country.
On this Armed Forces Day, let us all take a moment to thank our service members for their dedication and sacrifice. Let us also remember the families of our service members, who make many sacrifices of their own. Together, let us show our support for our Armed Forces and let them know that we are grateful for their service.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOSEPH R. BIDEN JR., President of the United States of America, do hereby proclaim May 18, 2024, as Armed Forces Day. I call upon all Americans to observe this day with appropriate ceremonies and activities. I also call upon all Federal, State, and local government officials to display the flag of the United States on all Government buildings on this day.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand this seventeenth day of January, in the year of our Lord two thousand twenty-four, and of the Independence of the United States of America the two hundred and forty-eighth.
