Sebastian Berhalter: A Rising Star in Major League Soccer

Son of Former US National Team Coach Breaks into MLS

Rising Midfielder Makes His Mark with Vancouver Whitecaps

Sebastian Berhalter, the 19-year-old son of former US National Team Coach Gregg Berhalter, has made a name for himself in Major League Soccer, emerging as a rising star with the Vancouver Whitecaps. Despite his young age, Sebastian has already shown tremendous promise, demonstrating his skills as a versatile midfielder with exceptional passing range and defensive abilities.

Born and raised in the Lake View neighborhood of Chicago, Sebastian inherited his love for soccer from his father, who played for the Columbus Crew and coached the United States National Team. Following in his father's footsteps, Sebastian honed his skills at the University of North Carolina, where he played for the Tar Heels.

In 2021, Sebastian was drafted by his hometown club, the Columbus Crew, as a homegrown player, making him the third generation of his family to play for the Crew. However, a recent trade brought him to the Vancouver Whitecaps, where he has quickly become a valuable asset to the team.

With his impressive performances, Sebastian has caught the attention not only of soccer fans but also of national team coaches. He has been called up to the United States U-20 National Team and is expected to continue his rise through the ranks of American soccer.
